Sports and Activity Certificates

Triathlon, and the three individual sports of which it is comprised, are hugely popular.  Many athletes race both in the UK and abroad.  Increasingly, such events require medical fitness certification from a doctor before allowing athletes to compete.  This is particularly the case in France and Italy but also in some events in the UK.

The following events require medical certification:

Events in France

Italian Sporting Regulations

The Italian sporting medical regulations are particularly strict and so assessment requires a longer appointment of one hour. This includes the main assessment; however, please note we refer you on for the stress ECG. The following investigations are required in order to compete:

  • Full Medical Exam

  • Complete Urine Test

  • ECG at Rest

  • Spirometry

  • Stress/Exercise ECG (referral to cardiac centre for this with an additional cost of approximately £230)

Booking your appointment

For simple medicals, we usually charge £75. If the medical takes longer, the fee may be a little higher, depending on the exact medical requirements.

To book your medical (only after emailing us the form) please visit our online booking system below and select option F - 'Sport and Insurance Medicals'. Most medicals can be done within a standard 30 minute appointment; however, Italian marathons require a longer appointment (60 minutes) and they have a separate booking option.

It is helpful if you can email us a copy of your medical form before the appointment.
